Prof. Jackson Perrin's Master Class:
Navigating the Vocal Landscape of Musical Theatre

Monday, February 10 from 11:30am-2pm
Palmetto Recital Hall (PCA-107)

NVC Music is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for vocal performers and educators! Join us for the OneVoice workshop with renowned expert Jackson Perrin from Texas State University. This dynamic workshop will enhance your skills in musical theater and will include engaging lectures, an interactive Q&A session, and hands-on work sessions. We’ll explore the expectations vocalists encounter in a collaboration-based industry. Using the lens of OneVoice, the current pedagogy of Texas State’s Musical Theatre Program, we’ll examine how a range of vocal styles, demands, and industry language can create collaborative roadblocks, along with strategies for overcoming these challenges. Topics will include an overview of OneVoice techniques, tools, and systems designed to provide a clearer approach to the process and practice of a vocal workflow.

Jackson Perrin is an artist and educator who currently coordinates the Voice Line for Texas State University’s BFA Musical Theater program. After earning his degree in Musical Theater from Texas State, he obtained both certification and master certification in OneVoice and has taught privately for over ten years. He co-founded Presence, a Brooklyn-based musician collective that provides a weekly improvised live music session for emerging artists throughout Brooklyn, emphasizing community building and intentional creativity.
